DESCRIPTION:The Louisey Rider Cup is back! Well\, sort of… \nOn Saturday Sept 4th\, expect all the sparkle and excitement of the game day side-show plus afterparty shenanigans in one outdoor venue – the Old Cold Store’s sizeable courtyard. Nottingham Roller Derby presents LRC – Party Edition! \nCLICK HERE FOR TICKETS \nThere will be no Roller Derby tournament this year but that isn’t going to stop us from having a glittery get-together and a showdown for the second most coveted trophy of the day – Lip Sync Battle Champion. \nIt was important for us to be able to do something together this year to honour our teammate\, Louise Wright\, aka Louisey Rider #66\, who was killed suddenly in a cycling accident in 2014. \nLou had often spoken about putting on a tournament. In the Louisey Rider Cup\, we found a way of both celebrating her life and combining all of those off-the-wall ideas that we all know she would have suggested. \nIn normal times\, The Louisey Rider Cup is an annual Roller Derby Tournament that brings together hundreds of people from all over to raise money for road safety charity Break – so far we’ve raised over £15\,000. \nWe know Lou would have bloody loved what the tournament has become\, brilliant costumes or fancy threads\, a chance to get together to make memories and life-long friends. As long we’re allowed\, we refuse to spend another year without waking up with a pillow full of glitter. \nWHAT TO EXPECT: \nStarting at 5pm in the outdoors area of the Old Cold Store\, we’ll be treating you to: \nEntertainment\nGames\nStalls\nCompetitions\nAt 9pm the infamous LRC Lip Sync Battle \nPlus\, of course\, glitter. Lots of glitter! \nDrinks and food will be available from the Vat & Fiddle and we’ll have plenty of protection from the unpredictable British weather! \nWe’ll also have our annual sponsored event. In the past\, we’ve shaved or waxed various folx in different places and last year we made Bear do a random obstacle course. Look out for announcements on this year’s challenge.
