It doesn’t matter if you’re a total beginner and you haven’t skated since your adjustable Fisher-Price days, or if you’re a seasoned skater looking for a new challenge. We’ll teach you all the skating and roller derby skills you’ll need! NRD are always looking for players and officials to join us! Come meet us and learn to skate at our Tuesday night Learn to Skate sessions. Our team is WFTDA-aligned, so we have player spaces for those who identify as women or gender expansive, and Officials spaces for folks of all genders.

Our next intake:
Our next intake is scheduled for September 1st 2024
If you’re interested in joining our next intake, please fill in this form to register interest: INTAKE INTEREST FORM

Helena will then get in contact to let you know if there are spaces available.
If you have any other questions then please email us at join@nottsrollerderby.co.uk or contact us on Facebook Messenger.

We have kit to lend out (skates, knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards) on a first come, first served basis. Health and Safety rules apply to ensure you’ll be using clean kit. You will need to bring your own helmet to every session and then a mouth guard once you start doing contact drills.

For more info please read our beginner document HERE.
If you have any questions then email us at join@nottsrollerderby.co.uk

Interested in becoming a referee?
If you like rules and regulations, ensuring they get followed (in addition to skating), then maybe you’d enjoy this! All genders are welcome. We’ll run you through all the skating basics, teach you the specific skills needed to become a ref and help you with learning the rules. Referees will need to start on a learn to skate session if you don’t have previous skating experience. Please email in to officials@nottsrollerderby.co.uk

Interested in becoming a NSO?
These are our ‘non-skating officials’ and they are vital to the running of any derby event. Maybe you like the look of the sport and want to get involved in the social side of things but don’t really fancy skating. Our team of NSOs travel the country officiating at games featuring some of the country’s best skaters. You get to be part of a valued team on game days, get to see games for free, get to be much closer to the action and generally have a great time doing it. Just email in to officials@nottsrollerderby.co.uk
