It’s no secret that we were confident of an SSB win when they took on Skateful Dead at the end of November but our men seemed dominated in the first half and it was looking like another loss.
We couldn’t believe our eyes when the Brollers got their act together and started clocking up the points.
A hard fought game throughout, some commendable jamming on both sides and a marked improvement on the penalty count for the hosts.
Special mention to Jammie Dodger and Wreck-It Wragg, who made their home debut.

NRG had been warned that Hereford’s involvement in Heartland Series had resulted in a significant team improvement; this said, our girls entered the locker room at half time with double the points and a quiet confidence.
Throughout the second half, Hereford proceeded to rip this lead to shreds with a continual offense that dissolved any walls NRG might attempt.
The Horrorbulls skill and tactical awareness was apparent as their jammers repeatedly led opposition walls to the outside and shot up the inside.
This said, individually, there’s an improvement across the home team and rookies Dellar Artois and PennyTrate looked, in no way out of place.
A sobering experience. While they never gave up the lead, on the final whistle there were only 5 points in it, but a victory all the same. We look to 2014 now; in eager anticipation that Heartland Series will bring us similar benefits.
